Job Summary

Qtron Investments is seeking an experienced senior operations professional to support the growing needs of the firm. The candidate will be responsible for leading areas throughout the firm’s investment operations, middle office, accounting, and compliance. Candidates will need to leverage their expertise in investment operations to help design processes and procedures, and will partner with Qtron’s Operations Manager to shape the future of the firm’s operations. The role will be highly visible and responsible for further developing the firm’s operations in the short and long term.

Responsibilities

The Senior Operations Analyst will be responsible for the following areas:

Accounting

  • Communicate with brokers and custodians to ensure timely settlement of all trades globally
  • Daily reconciliations of holdings, cash balances, net asset values, and performance to custodians and fund administrators
  • Prepare portfolio reporting such as performance reports, exposure reporting, and risk reporting
  • Assist with management company accounting including expense and tax accounting, and the preparation of annual financial statements
  • Participate in account onboarding including setting up custodians and connectivity with common industry services providers

Middle Office

  • Assist with the daily compliance review of portfolios against client and regulatory restrictions
  • Assist portfolio managers with the execution processing, reconciliation, and cash projections
  • Review performance attribution and deviations in returns
  • Review and elect corporate actions

Operations Management

  • Design, improve, and document operational and compliance procedures
  • Seek out operational risks and recommend procedural changes to mitigate firm risk
  • Develop a strong understanding of the firm’s investment strategies and recommend improvements to the firm, operations, and investments

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following areas: middle office, trade settlements, portfolio and fund accounting, or compliance
  • Experience developing controls, process, and operational procedures for investment advisers
  • Highly inquisitive and eager to learn; loves to ask questions and find answers
  • Technically minded with focus on process and system improvement
  • Expert proficiency in Excel
  • Experience with common industry software such as Bloomberg, CTM, Eze, Charles River, Quickbooks
  • Experience with SQL
  • Python development experience is a plus

  • Background in financial engineering. Experience with financial modeling and quantitative back-testing. Knowledge of empirical alpha factor research, forecasting methodologies, and public equity markets.
  • Knowledge of financial statement analysis and experience with financial and macroeconomic databases (S&P Financials, Factset, Compustat, Worldscope, IBES, Datastream, CRSP, IFS, etc.) is a plus.
